National Convention 2008

Plans are well underway for the 2008 Lutheran Pioneer National Convention. The convention will be held on March 7-8, 2008.

Cranberry Country Lodge, Tomah, WI.

LBP and LGP Conventions Held at Same Time in Same Location

The 2008 LGP and LBP National Convneitons will be held at the same time. We will begin with a joint worship service with the Lord's Supper at 8:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2008. That will be followed by fellowship tome.
On Saturday morning we will follow the tentative schedule of:

Business Meeting

Each active Train may send 2 voting delegates and as many non-voting delegates to the convention. All delegates, voting or non-votion may speak on any subject on the floor of the convention. The agenda for the business meeting will be set at the January 2008 National Council meeting and then posted here. If you would like to have a subject on the agenda please submit it to the Lutheran Pioneer National Office by January 1. The National Council will discuss it at its January meeting and inform you as to their decision to place or not place it on the agenda. Items not placed on the agenda may be brought up for discussion from the floor during New business. The tentative agenda for the business meeting is:

Closing Service

Together with the Lutheran Girl Pioneer Leaders we will thank and praise our Lord for His great love and many blessings. We will also install our new National Officers and recognize the service of long-time National Leaders

National Council Elections

We are looking for men, 21 and older, willing to serve on the National Council. There will be 5 positions up for election. Currently 3 incumbants have been nominated. Two or our current council members will be stepping down, Fred Banaszak after 13 years and Dave Zimmerman after 4 years. Nominations should be sent to the National Office by January 10, 2008. Two ballots along with information about the candidates will be sent to all active Trains. Ballots must be competed and returned by mail to the National Office 14 days prior to the convention or they may be brought to the convention by delegates.

Registration Fee

The fee for the 2008 Convewntion has been set at $45 per delegate. (The fee is the same for voting and non-voting delegates.)
The fee includes materials, snacks and the noon lunch.
The fee does not include your motel room.
