Deals with the problem of too much heat. Becoming overheated is a common problem when you are camping in summer. This video follows a group of hikers as they travel through both wooded and open country on a hot day. Each hiker shows signs of overheating as their body can't cool off fast enough. Some members of the hiking group take the correct precautions to allow their bodies to balance their body heat. Others in the group march on, convinced they can make it to the campsite quickly. As the video continues, the hikers who practice correct "heatcraft" catch up to the others who are now suffering from various stages of overheating.

This video deals with the hazard of hypothermia. Hypothermia is the dangerous and sometimes deadly reaction of the body to cold, wet weather. The film explains how the combination of a little wind, cool temperatures and a rainy, misty day can spell disaster for a group of campers. In this video you will follow a group of hikers as they do some mountain climbing. Each pushes the others on, until serious trouble begins. Finally the most experienced member of the group realizes what is happening and takes the correct safety measures.

These programs are all excellent. They are safety oriented but do not teach first aid. The theme in all three programs is to "stay cool" when an accident happens and get adult help. The Skateboard Scene covers the need to remember where an accident happened so you can direct help. In this case, the girl must run to a gas station to get help. In the Bicycle Scene, the boy must return to school to find his teacher for help. In Chad's Scene, a boy returns home from school to find his mother has fallen down the stairs. He uses the telephone to call for help and must run to the front door to check his house number. All three programs position police and fire department personnel as great helpers in time of need. These programs have been evaluated by leaders and given a hearty endorsement.
