- Use a sharpening stone to sharpen the blade of a camp knife.
- Dig a hole using the shovel and hoe of a camp shovel.

- Prepare and cook a dinner using aluminum foil.
Camper
- Make a list of 15 food items you may take on an overnight or weekend campout.
- Make a list of 15 food items you may take on a backpacking wilderness trip.
- Plan a menu for a weekend campout for a Wagon of at least 6.
- Make a shopping list for your menu, including amounts, cost per person and total cost.
- Demonstrate different types of food storage for different foods.
- Prepare a duty roster for cooking responsibilities.
- Demonstrate the use of the palm count method to measure the temperature of your cooking
fire.
- Prepare and cook a shis-kebab dinner.

- Pack a dinner for a wilderness-backpacking trip.
- Prepare and cook a one-pot meal over a one-burner camp stove.
- Construct and use a reflector oven.
- Build a cocking fire and regulate the temperature of the fire at 300-400 degrees F for
several minutes.

- On a camping trip with your Train or family, cook, for a wagon or your family, a full

CHAPTER 8 - CAMPING SITES AND EQUIPMENT
